For Utah clinical supervisors trained before the May 2026 rule change

You trained to be a great supervisor. Then the supervision rule changed.

R156-60e is final, and the date to be current is January 1, 2027. This is the update — what changed, what your supervision contract is now missing, and how to fix it — in one evening. No need to redo the whole training, so we'll just focus on getting you up-to-date on the changes.

You'll leave knowing exactly how to bring your supervision contract current — plus 4 live CE hours (2 of them ethics) and documentation that you're up to date.

What changed — and why it's easy to miss

When the supervision rule changed, DOPL sent a short email — and that was about it. You did your training, you set up your contracts, you got your hours tracking figured out — and it all worked. A brief note doesn't tell you what actually has to change in any of that, so most of us read it, felt a little uneasy, and got back to work. And the paperwork you set up in good faith is missing a few things it needs now — with a January 1 deadline to have it right.

The new rule asks for some things the older trainings never covered. Your supervision contract now needs a written plan for how you use AI in your practice. A couple of the required sections changed. The timelines for reporting to DOPL are short, and they're specific. It's not complicated — nobody's just walked you through it yet.

That's what we'll do together, in one evening. We won't spend time on what you already know. We'll go straight to what changed, and I'll show you exactly how to use the toolkit to bring your own paperwork current — so you can stop wondering whether you are.

Who this is for

Built for supervisors who already did the work once

  • You completed a Utah clinical supervisor training before the May 2026 rule change and haven't updated your practice to R156-60e yet
  • You're a practicing LCSW, CMHC, MFT, or MAC supervising toward licensure
  • You have supervision contracts, hours logs, or documentation you set up under the old rule
  • You want to know you're current — and have something on paper that says so — before January 1, 2027

If you've never done a supervisor training at all, the full 8-hour training is the better fit — and we'll point you there. This is the update, for supervisors who already did the work once.

Questions

The things supervisors ask first

Do I have to retake my whole training?

No. You did that already. This is only what changed under R156-60e — the updates and the questions people have about them.

Will I really get CE credit?

Yes — 4 live CE hours, 2 of them ethics, for attending live. The credit is sponsored through a qualifying Utah mental health agency.

What if I can't attend live?

The evening is recorded and yours for 60 days. You need to attend live to earn the CE credit, but you'll never lose the material.

Is my old training wasted?

Not at all. Everything you learned still holds. The rule added and changed a few specific things — that's all we're covering, so you can bring your practice current without starting over.

Is this legal advice?

No. This is training. Your supervision contract isn't binding until DOPL approves it at filing, and this session doesn't replace guidance from your own attorney. What you'll get is a clear, plain-English walk through the current requirements and the tools to build the contract you submit to DOPL.

You already did the hard part.

You trained, you took on supervisees, you built a practice that helps people get licensed. This is the small, specific step that keeps all of that current — one evening, and you're done, with the paperwork to prove it.
