You’ve done the things you’re supposed to do. You answer the referral calls, you keep the caseload full, you stay on top of the notes and the billing and the renewal requirements. And still, somewhere underneath it, there’s a question you mostly don’t let yourself finish: how long can I actually keep this up?
The pressures are real — the insurance headaches, the compliance load, the new competition that seems to arrive monthly, the sense that the ground under this profession is shifting. And most of the advice you’ll hear about it amounts to take better care of yourself. Which is kind, and true, and doesn’t fix anything — because the problem was never that you’re not resilient enough.
Here’s the harder, more useful question, and it’s the one this webinar is built around: what if the thing capping your practice isn’t the market at all? What if it’s the way the practice is built — around one person, one calendar, one you?
That’s not an accusation. It’s an invitation to look. Because if the bottleneck is you, then the fix is also you — and it turns out to be more learnable than almost anyone expects.
What you’ll walk away with
- ✓The real pressures on practices right now, named plainly — so you know it isn’t just you, and it isn’t a self-care problem.
- ✓The durability moves that keep a practice full — including the fix most owners never make, and why “there aren’t enough clients to go around” quietly stops being true when a practice is built right.
- ✓A clear-eyed look at the one move that gives a solo therapist reach beyond their own calendar — supervision as a longevity move, and an honest way to tell whether it fits your season.
- ✓1 ethics CE hour for Utah clinicians — the hour is genuinely ethics-anchored: continuity of care when clients transition between clinicians, ethical marketing, and client welfare as a practice grows.
- ✓Your next step, if you want one — and real permission to decide the answer is “not now.” Either answer counts as a win.
Who this is for
This is for licensed mental health clinicians — and for the practice owners among them especially.
Maybe you own the practice and carry all of it: the caseload, the marketing, the payroll worry, the 6 p.m. clients you swore you’d stopped seeing. Maybe you’re a clinician with a full calendar and a quiet math problem — the hours cap out, and so does everything built on them. Maybe you’ve thought about growing, or supervising, or hiring, and talked yourself out of it because you didn’t believe there were enough clients to go around.
If any of that is you, this hour was built for you. You don’t need any interest in becoming a supervisor to get your money’s worth — it’s free, but you know what I mean.

The “Is Supervision Right for You?” readiness reflection
When you register, we’ll send you a short readiness reflection — a few honest questions to sit with before the webinar. Supervision is one of the durability moves we’ll look at together, and this is the ten-minute version of the question: not should everyone do this, but does it fit you, in this season? Most people finish it knowing more about their answer than they expected to.
About Tracie
Tracie Penunuri, LCSW, has lived both sides of this question. She built a solo practice into a group practice — which means she has personally been the bottleneck, made the fixes, and watched what happens when a practice stops depending on one person’s calendar. And she has spent years on the training side of the profession: training provisionally licensed clinicians and interns from universities across Salt Lake and Utah counties, leading supervisor trainings, and running monthly supervision leadership meetings for practicing supervisors.
Which means she’s watched a lot of practices stall, and a lot of practices become durable — and she knows the difference is rarely the market. It’s structural, and it’s learnable.
She built this webinar because she kept meeting the same person: a capable, experienced therapist working harder every year for a practice that couldn’t grow past them — and blaming themselves for the wrong thing.
Questions, answered
Is this a webinar about becoming a supervisor?
Not mostly, no. It’s a webinar about whether a practice can last in this market — the pressures, and the moves that make a practice durable. Supervision comes up because it’s one of the strongest of those moves, and we’ll look at it honestly, including whether it fits you. And if you’re already a supervisor, it can help you be a better one. You don’t need any interest in supervising to leave with something useful.
What if I can’t attend live?
Register anyway. Every registrant gets the recording, so you can watch on your own schedule. (Live attendees get to ask questions, though — so come if you can.)
Is it really free?
Really free. No card, no catch. Tracie does offer a paid training — the Utah Supervisor Training — for people who decide that move is theirs, and she’ll tell you about it plainly at the end — but the webinar stands on its own whether you ever take another step.
What about CE credit?
Yes — 1 ethics CE hour for Utah clinicians. The hour is genuinely ethics-focused: continuity of care when clients move between clinicians, ethical marketing, and client welfare as a practice grows. Your registration confirmation will have the details.
What happens after the webinar?
You’ll get the recording, the readiness reflection if you haven’t done it yet, and a few follow-up emails with resources. If one of the moves turns out to be yours, we’ll show you the path. If not, unsubscribe with our blessing.
Will there be pressure to buy anything?
No. Tracie’s a therapist — she knows what a hard sell feels like and has no interest in running one. You’ll hear what the next step is if you want it, and that’s the whole pitch.
